VENUE: The Lapa, Mechem, Selborne Ave, Lyttelton
DIRECTIONS:
From R21: Follow the R21 North past Irene. Ignore all N1 turnoffs and stay on the R21. Take the M10 Hans Strijdom, Lyttelton turnoff. At the T-junction, turn left onto the M10 to Lyttelton. Travel about 4 km past the Waterkloof Airbase. Look out for a Sasol petrol station on the right. At those robots, turn right into Selborne. Follow the road past the circle to the security checkpoint and a sign ”Denel Land Systems”. Go through.
From Johannesburg on the N1: Follow the N1 North past the Old Pretoria/Johannesburg turnoff. Stay on the road. It becomes the N14 (North). (DON’T turn off for the N14 Krugersdorp, nor N1 Pretoria East.) Drive past the Jean Ave offramp. Take the first turnoff left after Jean Ave (M24 Trichard Rd, Valhalla). It is just after an overpass and not well signposted. At the T-junction, turn left to Lyttelton. Follow the road for about 3 km until you get to a circle. Turn sharp left into Selborne Lane. You will see a security checkpoint ahead and a sign “Denel Land Systems” Go through.
If you have succeeded in losing your way, please phone 076 117 0644. I will have someone on standby with a map.
ALL:
Follow the tarred road. There are signs with arrows to the Lapa. Go over the railway line, through a second security checkpoint, past the Mechem Dog Unit. When the tar road ends and the dirt road starts – look out for the Lapa sign ahead on the right. Follow the dirt road to the thatch roofed building – the Lapa.
